At Last .... Rakhis n me..

Today will be a memorable day fomme would say... Most memorable day.... Never imagined this would happen... At last i met my bro... twas a biiiig surprise in the morning fomme... got a wake up call that too at around 8.... n half asleep when i was like who... got an answer back ar arvind... wondered which arvind ( i happ to know many arvinds) n when he actually told who he was i was astounded... the guy whom i hav been in search of n hav been advertising to find for the past two days has actually called me!!!!! Surprising.... rather pleasant shock would say... instantaneously i went on n on lamenting that he didnt meet me on the 19 for which i had planned for a very loong time .. got a rakhi 2 weeks bak and have been waiting for that day to come n when i could actually not get him that day got sooooo depressed... well i went to the stage of catching hold of his address at chennai (thanx to ambs wedding address colln...) an findin his fone no n callin him up n wish him.. then thot anyway wud mail it to his hyd add.....

And he was like wed meet up n believe it or not i was awake then n told him gimme half an hr ill get ready n come n meet ya.... Man actually i could tie rakhi to him... Definitely i was not dreaming..... We spoke for a while n decided to meet up at 10 at Coffee day anna nagar .. n immediately i rang up part... parth thot it was asha whom we were meetin today too... but to his shock it was me ... n that too awake soo soon... ( my normal wake up time was 12 few days b4 n now improved to 10 in the morning)... though i slept at 3.30 last nigt after a looong chat session.... Somehow part n me managed to reach there at 10 but searched the whole place for a coffee day n couldnt find one... called deeps n asked him n he reverts the same qn bak to me... ghosh... then part ask ro 's bro n we got tot he place n soon arvind joined us... we started the meet with the prasadam -thulasi he gave after visisting a temple n we went on n on till 12.15 n he left then.. i tied rakhi in the middle n it was a dream come true fomme.... then we left to iit n badreee called n asked us to porikkify him too on the way n we piked rajeev the bday boy from iit n landed at sangeethas luz... met asha sri vejay n anisha... anisha is such a cutie pie... loved her company... then came bak home n i again drove (legally this time) to mahabs to see sthalasayana perumal n nithyakalyana perumal n we got bak...... my dad accepted that i too am fit for highway driving n yeah one step ahead at driving.... Was too excited abt the day so immediatly sat down to blog...

Wonder why off late got soo much senti abt having a bro... cuz when it was the same case with sriram on the 9th i was soo happy.... n felt soo happy when these guys tomme they r happy to hav a sis like me.... well after sooo many years at last tying rakhis have become a dream come true fomme.... Now that i hav these 2 bros... I love em......

Frenz.. The intimate realization...

Initially would like to dedicate this blog to all my frenz n well wishers cuz my life has a big chunk of their contribution... Well this part of my life would say is Phase-2... A rebirth of a new life could say.. Well it all happened on the 17th of December 2002..

Being a part of the enthu cultural gang form the ECE department of Sathyabama... I was forced into some stupid dancing for Mile sur mera tumhara.. with a few classmates of mine on the occasion of the inaguration of UNIFEST the culturals which our college ever hosted.. We were all vetti as usual then as our 3rd sem was over n they kept classes for a week n obviously i was out for dance practice... That was the time after my exams my parent go their visa to visit the US.. jus for a vacation of a month or so.. they left as soon as my exams were over.. So after a weeks practice just about 5 days before the event actually took place they had asked us to shop for a few things .. So took my friend Aishu along with me in my kinetic-style and got done with the shopping for bangles etc.. in pondy bajaar and dropped he off home (at saligramam) and was on the way bak to my house... via the 100 ft road..

It was then where just after crossing the signal a 40 ft trailer they say hit on me.. I get to know that it was not a fault on my side but on that guy though i faced the consequences.. I dropped down in the middle of the road unconscious.. My blind luck one gentleman from the nearby rice-mandi picked me n my vehicle up n called for the local ambulance n admitted me in the nearby local Pallava Hoapital near Ashok Pillar.. There they came to know that i was jus not bruised it was a head injury and all they could do then was only a first-aid there as heir hospital lacked all the scanning facilities and i had to be taken to a better hospital.. so they arranged asap for an admission at Vijaya hospital at vadapalni.. In the meanwhile at home my parents had left my grandmom n grandpa to take care of me n gone aborad.. Then i did not have a mobile of my own but since my dad was away i used his... It was past 7.30 to grandma got scared n called up the mobile.. It was then they were able to spot my details at the hospital.. Pallava Hospital ppl had kept my mobile as they were dressing my wounds as first-aid.. Then ppl at home got the info abt my status...

It was a co-incidence that BC (another of my classmates) had called n my grabdma told her the happenings immedietly and rushed to the hospital to see me .. They needed immediate help cuz this place had only all old ppl then.. all my relatives younger gen ppl were all out of station... So BC signed in my msn(i had changed my password in her house the prev day n she knew it by chance) and luckily found afriend from school.. Got Hari - one of my closest friends in school's contact number and asked him to come to the hospital.. n she conveyed the info to all local friends here...

I was taken to Vijaya Hospital but their scanner was not working then so they took me to child-trust hospital and got my head scanned... It was then found that i had a Concussion in a few tissues in the left side of my brain... The head injury was then stitched and i was put in the ICU... I stayed there unconscious for 9 days and then on the last day when i got bak my senses they shifted me.. still i was slightly out of my memories... I blabbered a lot to a great extent... Listening to which all my friends got terribly scared... But before the New year dawned my dad wanted me off the hospital ...

I did have a coupla more scans i suppose but i remember only the last one... I dont remember the place i was in even after i came bak to my senses but i remember my father took me to ttd right from the hospital and i saw my classmate rahul there... But at the hospital the place was brimming with all the people i knew and who knew me... Entire psbb.. senior n junior n my batch ppl possible.. sathyabama similarly... that was on astonishing factor that ppl got to realise how important friends were.. It made a big difference to me.. My friends only stayed at the hospital fomme.. since old ppl were only around in chennai they could not stay bak at nights till my parents returned which took them a week due to unavailability of tickets asap..

I didnt miss colelge much but yeah had a temporary memory loss... Forgot all basics.. Integration, Differenciation etc... Shocked too many friends then.. 4th sem was one hell of a sem for me.. flunked coontinusly in the mid sems n model in maths and networks.. That was when my first sem math prof took classes fomme specially at his place... n i used to forget all i learnt for the exams... spent most of the time depressed... But dunno what gamme the will power... My freinds were a great pillar fomme and i got the highest of my scores that sem n i topped networks... still cant believe it.. All frends and relatives had prayed fomme then.. would say only that worked...

Had it not been for my friends then... I would say i could not hav doen soo much so my scores at college, my wipro placement n the fact that im actually sitting vetti n blogging now is dedicated to my friends... They were a big-time moral boost fomme..

Initially didnt wanna blog about this... but something was bothering me for a long time that i always wanted to pen it down n keep so that at some point in the future i can look back on it and what i owe to my friends is abysmal... I love em a lot !

So moral of the story: Drive with a helmet and make sure u have a license (i didnt have one the so could not take any action about the guy hittin upon me ) and always friends are there in need...

Hmmm.. its been very long since i updated my blog so its high time i do that.. I do not belong to the kind who keeps blogging very frequently..But hereafter will "TRY" to keep it updated at least once in a while...

Till now after my last post i hav continued to be vetti... Thanks to Ambica for getting married.. its her wedding which kept me active in doing some work or the other atleast useful for another person rather than sitting at home vetti 24/7 online chatting which i am doing now..

Ambs wedding was a biiig turning point in my life would say..never expected to get involved in something like this...That too one major highlight in that was that my athai and athimber considered me responsible enough to handle most of the velai's involved in the wedding..It could propably be an after effect of my intense polambal to all abt everyone treating me like a kid still...They always supported me in that matter ;) Well i was told to handle the photographer, the florist etc.. I would say the whole wedding was something which reflected my choices.. Right from the decorations to the menu and the wedding attire. Poor Ambica righteously did the role of a bride thats all..It was me who picked all her wedding sarees ad accessories n even jewellery..(which i first tried on checked i good and then picked).. OK after that people had to say that it was all good they had no choice...

It was in Ambica's wedding that i got to know most of the Orkut localites and was soo happy about the whole thing cuz it gave me a feeling that we have all become very close.. and not to forget the fone converstions of those abroad and outta station.... That was again something which i never expected would never happen..This OI gang became soo popular in my family ever since then....So after all this i could say there was never a thought of some kind of e-friendship behind at all...We all became much closer than that...Ambs marriage became a memorable occassion fomme n everyone in the family...

Before that the meet is another big story.. Thanks to Badreee's sense of distance ..Tiger Caves being just one furlong away from tiruvanmiyur beach.. But that was the first time i droev on Highway ever... Sooper risk taken by ambica.. Deeps drive bak n only then i became a fan of his driving skills.. feel that he has a steady way of driving.. So as usual at the end of the day i cooked up a story and Ambs n me told the same at both our houses... And it was when Arvind ambs bro camefrom the US as i had always wised to have made a big scene n gifted me a digicam claiming it to be a gift for my graduation..(never heard of such a reason).. He had also got a dog on the day of ambs weding whch Sujata (Arvind's wife) named Oliver.. cool dog as anyday i loved dogs and as n official athai (for the dog ??) wanted to name it Zener.... Hence after which i started callin the dog Oliver Arvind... his official first son... I think Oliver looks real cute though my mom didnt like him..

After Ambs wedding meets became very frequent and we jus needed an excuse to meet...That was fun too..N Obviously not to mention me buggin Parthan and Vejay to fix my comp which went bonkers often...Upto some point of time i thot Wipro has forgotten me n decided to holiday and left to Tirunelveli to my classmate n beshtu friend n collegue's place and spent a weeks of vetti time there.. On the way bak got alva for all the localites here wholesale aa n came..One noteable thing about my tirunelveli trip is that i booked tickets specially after the meet the previous day cuz thats when id get to meet Kesavan our Thala...

After that trip i happened to get an opportuity to work on a fusion of clasicl n film songs.. Four of us at my music cls worked it out n presented a small show for some birthday party which happened to be organized by my music teachers friend.. It poured like crazy that day and i had to drive all my frends along n that day was really proud of my driving ... that too at 100 ft road (which happ to be the location of curse) and poor visibility and roads brimming with water... i was soo scared that car would stop anytime... By then i had received my joining date for wipro to be on the 2nd september.. So the next day we left to Srirangam...That was one place which i have never been to and always wanted to visit it atleast before i joined wipro.. I have suddently got into the holy-spree of visiting temples.. dont know why but its all for good would say.. So because of my interest my parents also became real enthua bout it n also went to many temples arpund sri rangam on the first day..starting from samayapuram.. to gunaseelam,Uraiyur,Uttamar kovil,Thiruvellarai.. Next morning we went to Sri rangam and then after which we went to Thiru anbil..Then after this trip gave a 5 day break and then went to Kanchepuram.. next in my list... varadaraja perumal, Kamakshi amman and Ulagalandha perumal.. Srinidhi and her mom also joined us in the kancheepuram trip in which she happened to surprise her mother with the trip ad her mom became very senti about it.

Now next in my list of temples lie cuddalore hayagreevar and one more near singaperumal kovil n few local temples... We all planned on a trip to sri rangam. all the OI ppl here but doesnt seem to work out in the near future lets see..

Ive been happy all along n suddenly one fine day my very close fried from school Hari left to the US.. went to the airport to send him off n there came out a fountain in my eyes...Became very senti bout it n so didnt wanna create a big scene n left that place asap..I still have two more of my very close frends who will leave soon to the US but hey.. Yahoo is always there...

One main additional surprise that i had recently was a call from my bro... Arvind from hyd called me... Man for soo many years i hav longs for an older bro n now i found one... hehe... esp whe he called me thangachi... appidiye flooded.. Have another bro similar way.. one of my close frends sriram who also shares same gothram as mine n also treats me like a sis as he also always wnated a sis.... ok gettin too senti i guess.. Next occassion that i plan for is the raksha bandhan... very special for me this year cuz i hav two bros at last.....

Hmm... jus thought its high time even i blogged... anywayz will give it a start with my intro...

Smriti is what my name appears to people outside but at home i have a compendium of names to address me... starting with my parents... im called mickey... most of my relatives call me with a derivation of that like mikz, mithu, mittu, mitti, smithu, smiti,smritz are a few that i can remmeber now... but things have gone to the extent of people calling me sembarithi... It was only then i felt how ironical my name can get.... Its a wonderful pick from the sanskrit vocabulary meaning Memory.... But ive always found people mispronouncing it or forgetting it.. But still whatever be it.. i love my name :)... In school my name was just as it is without any drastic changes... but after i came to college it has changed comletely... There is a big derivation worked on by my college buddies with my name... it goes like SR -> Smriti_Ranganath -> Smriti Ranganath ->SRanganath -> Srangi ->Srang... so this is what is my final identification among my pals in college...

One more luckiest aspect i would say is that i am the only child... So i kinda get what i want even before i ask for it.. In my paternal side i am kinda the youngest grandchid... so i tend to get petted by the whole family.. actually they all view me as a kid however old i get... but in my maternal side i am the oldest grandchild... so again i reap the benefits of better identification... At the end of it.. i would say ive won the jackpot of everyones love in the family.. its always nice to feel special...:))

My schooling started off at PSBB (Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan ) where i got to complete my Kinder Garden classes after which my dad was transferred to Coimbatore... Right from the day i started talking i have been identified as a non-stop yap-yap.. and my voice is pretty loud too... loud to the extent that i need not ring the bell to enter anyones house... Then i satyed in Coimbatore for four years.. stuided at Avila Convent (supposed to be identified as one of the best schools there) from std 1 to 4 ... and then again my dad was transferred to Nagpur... In Nagpur i stayed only for a year n did my fifth standard at St.Josephs convent.. Till then i didnt know Hindi.. it was then i started learing hindi out of absolute compulsion.... i literally used to mug hindi then... but had fun there... Then i again shifted back to Chennai from std 6 onwards and made a highlighting return to PSBB and stayed there for the whole of my schooling.. At the culmination of my schooling i joined Sathyabama Enginnering College in the idea of doing a so-called engineering... only then did i realise that it had become Deemed.. so wondered if this place identified my everyone as jail will doom me... but i stayed brave with lotsa will power n set my foot on the department of ECE (my dad wanted me to take up this department)... Though this place has been identified as jail, i have had fun in my own way there... it all jus depends upon the way u deal with things there would say.... And now i am on the periphery of completion of my college life... Got placed in Wipro Technologies through campus interview at 1.30 a.m. on July 12, 2004 and will start off with my corporate career soon...

I have a diverse variety of interests... but chiefly among them would be singing... I was identified to have a good interest in music and as a good vocalist when i was in my KG s and so was made to start off singing when i was in my first grade... it used ot be a big pain for me then to sit through music classes... but i started enjoying it in the due course... i continued to learn clasical music till my 11 standard after which i could not balance it with my school stuff so paused it there... and college was a place where i got not much encouragement for continuing it so even there it jus remained dormant.. But in the whole of my schooling i was always identified as a good singer n ive spent all my time in attending innumerable number of competetions and have won lots.. so PSBB would say was a boon for me.. it got me the maximum exposure as possible... but apart from music i have intersts in other stuff also... like dramatics, painting, mehendi etc.. basically a jack of all trades with fine arts would say... But due to some sudden electrifying interest in mehendi in std 6 i began practicing it and now its become a side track as a career too..

I generally love to be with people and making new friends is my hobby... I am such a big source of enetretainment my friends would say.... cant keep quiet at all.. and of i am quiet then something should be wrong with me they would say..so noone feels bored... i go on and on talking ... from the pinnacle of sense to the profundity of nonsense... and i am generally very very verbose... love to converse with a great detail...

Till soo many years would say i was totally immature and with the help of my frenz i have becom much better now.. would say hav got a better level of maturity and handling things... so now i live on the priciple of " Believe in yourself... Nothing can go beyond you"... Its a pretty common one though but i keep tellin this for any kind of situation handling questions...

More than everything that i have told above.. I am an open book.. its easy for people to approach me and i take immense pleasure and of course liberty in becoming their well-wisher ... and noone thinks twice to ask me for anything they want.. I am always there for them...
